چکیده

The maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for the proportional hazards model with current status data is studied. It is shown that the MLE for the regression parameter is asymptotically normal with vn-convergence rate and achieves the information bound, even though the MLE for the baseline cumulative hazard function only converges at nI/3 rate. Estimation of the asymptotic variance matrix for the MLE of the regression parameter is also considered. To prove our main results, we also establish a general theorem showing that the MLE of the finite dimensional parameter in a class of semiparametric models is asymptotically efficient even though the MLE of the infinite dimensional parameter converges at a rate slower than vn. The results are illustrated by applying them to a data set from a tumoriginicity study.

Bayes Interval Estimation on the Parameters of the Weibull Distribution for Complete and Censored Tests

A method for constructing confidence intervals on parameters of a continuous probability distribution is developed in this paper. The objective is to present a model for an uncertainty represented by parameters of a probability density function.  As an application, confidence intervals for the two parameters of the Weibull distribution along with their joint confidence interval are derived. The...

A study on interval estimation in exponential lifetimes under interval censoring

In this study, the interval estimations are proposed for the functions of the parameter in exponential lifetimes, when interval censoring is used. Optimal monitoring time and simulation studies are examined as well as the applicability of the topics.

Nonparametric Locally Efficient Estimation of the Treatment Specific Survival Distribution with Right Censored Data and Covariates in Observational Studies

In many observational studies one is concerned with comparing treatment specific survival distributions in the presence of confounding factors and censoring. In this paper we develop locally efficient point and interval estimators of these survival distributions which adjust for confounding by using an estimate of the propensity score and concurrently allow for dependent censoring. The proposed...

An Adaptive Spline-Based Sieve Semiparametric Maximum Likelihood Estimation for the Cox Model with Interval-Censored Data

We propose to analyze interval-censored data with Cox model using a spline-based sieve semi-parametric maximum likelihood approach in which the baseline cumulative hazard function is approximated by a monotone B-splines function. We apply the generalized Rosen algorithm , used in Zhang & Jamshidian (2004), for computing the maximum likelihood estimate. We show that the the estimator of regressi...

A Cox-Aalen model for interval-censored data

The Cox-Aalen model, obtained by replacing the baseline hazard function in the well-known Cox model with a covariate-dependent Aalen model, allows for both fixed and dynamic covariate effects. In this paper, we examine maximum likelihood estimation for a Cox-Aalen model based on interval-censored failure times with fixed covariates. The resulting estimator globally converges to the truth slower...
